WHAT TO EXPECT AT TIRZAH
Your Place to Connect With God
Commonly asked questions about a first visit to Tirzah:
Where do I park?
Parking isn’t a problem. We’ve got plenty of space beside and behind our building.
Where do I go when I get there?
There is one main entrance to the church located under covered drive-thru. As you enter the foyer, the sanctuary is to the right of you. We provide a baby nursery up to age 2 and children's room up to age 5.
Where are the restrooms? Restrooms are located to the left as you enter at main entrance. There is a small hallway off the to left of main entrance, the women's restroom is located on the left and men's restroom is on the right.
What time do I need to arrive?
Sunday School starts at 10:00 am classes for all ages. Worship service starts at 11:00 am.
Do you have a nursery or childern's church? We do have members that keep a baby to age 2 nursery during Sunday School and worship services. Children ages 3-5 are encouraged to stay in worship until after Youth message then are dismissed to older nursery for ages 3-5.
What if I am late?
Folks are welcome to wander in late, and an usher will help you find a seat.
What’s the dress code?
Come as you are. You will see a variety of clothing styles: men in suits, khakis, dress shirts or polo shirts. Women wear dresses, skirts and slacks. In the summer, you’ll see shorts and Hawaiian shirts, and sandals. We don’t worry much about what you wear, we’re just glad that you join us!
Can I take Communion, even if I am not a member of Tirzah?
You don’t have to be Presbyterian or even a member of a church to participate in the sacrament of the Lord’s Supper, the only requirement is a belief that Jesus lived and died for our sins.
What will the worship service be like?
A Sunday morning worship service at Tirzah Presbyterian is a mixture of traditional and contemporary elements. The bulletin will help you with the order of worship. As you enter, many folks will be greeting each other, reading the bulletin, or listening to the prelude music. We begin the service with a welcome and passing of the peace among each other.
The service will also include:
Several hymns sung by the congregation accompanied by the piano.
Special music by the choir,
One or two Bible passages are read aloud.
A message from the pastor, talking about the intersection of Scripture and our lives.
An offering and blessing
Prayers for the sick and concerns of the church and world.
