TIRZAH PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH
Join us in person or online for Sunday Worship
Returning to Worship
After much prayer and thoughtful discussion, the session has decided to begin worshiping in person again on June 7th. Some important things to note:
There is absolutely no pressure to attend! We understand that some may not yet be comfortable being around other people or may need to avoid any potential exposures due to health concerns, and that’s more than alright!
Services will still be available online, so you can always join us in worship via video! We will post the entire service on Facebook, and you can watch live at 11:00 on Sundays or any time after (no account needed, just click the link on the church website).
Caring by not sharing - If at any point, you are ill, have recently been sick, or have been exposed to someone who is sick, please join us in spirit or online rather than in person.
Spreading the Love… We will be putting every inch of the sanctuary to use and spreading out to keep a healthy space between families. Still, we’ll celebrate being closer together than we have been in a LONG time! Who knows, maybe you’ll even discover a new favorite pew.
Humming Right Along - There will be beautiful music! And we will sing in our hearts or hum the hymns rather than lifting our voices.
Joyful Noises - Little ones will join us for the entire service and so might their noises. And what a joy it will be to hear the pitter-patter, chatter & clatter of children!
Pause on Passing – The offering plates will remain stationary, but you’re welcome to drop in your tithes & offerings after the service. (There will be plates by the door as you leave as well as on the communion table.) We will also remain stationary during the Passing of the Peace. Instead of a hug or handshake, offer a smile, a wave, and a word of welcome as we share the Peace of Christ without sharing our germs.
Masks will be available for anyone who needs one. (These may also be useful for hiding yawns.)
All other activities, including Sunday School, will remain on hold.
While we are doing what we can to minimize the spread of germs, there is a still a measure of risk involved in attending worship, just as there are risks with nearly every part of living. We want to acknowledge that reality and ask for God’s guidance as we each determine what risks are appropriate for us individually. No matter when or how you participate in worship, I pray you feel heard, understood, included, cared for, and loved by your church family. With God’s help, may we travel into this uncharted territory united in faith, filled with hope, giving lots of grace, and trusting God to guide us each step of the way.
Together with you in Christ,
A WORD ABOUT US
Joining a church can mean many things to many people. Some seek out God and community when they feel they have lost their way, or are seeking a deeper purpose, or are looking for a way to connect to their family and cultural identity. But it is our belief that the Church, at its core, is about finding love and beauty through God and God’s work.
At Tirzah Presbyterian Church, we inspire individuals of all ages and backgrounds to bring the Lord Almighty into their lives at every moment - moments of joy, moments of despair, and even those moments in between. We are committed to the teachings of Jesus Christ, and are here to spread His message with loving patience and kindness. Tirzah Presbyterian Church (USA) is a congregation seeking to live fully into its life found in Christ Jesus.
We are located halfway between York and Rock Hill, SC, just 1/10 of a mile south of Hwy 161, inside the Tirzah Community limits. We worship every Sunday at 11:00 am, with Sunday School at 10:00 am.
